Default Possible Rodent problem

I don't know if I am going crazy or what, but I think I have a mouse living in the s2000

what can I do to get rid of this problem?

I thought about poison, but then the rodent will curl up and die in a corner where I can't get to it...Should I set a trap and hope the mouse goes for the cheese or what?

Just learn to keep your mouse in your pants where it belongs.

I'd try the trap route first, put out several in and around the S.

Your story reminds me of Ralph and the Motorcycle by Judy Blue (loved that series as a kid). Anyway, use a humane trap with peanut butter as a lure. That way you can get the mouse/rat out of your car and it wont stink up the car when it starts to decompose.

Peanut butter works well because they can't just grab it and run like they can do with cheese.

Waaaay back in the day, someone had a mouse problem with their S2000. I think it might have been Greg?

There is a "mouse door" (actually a small ventillation door) somewhere in the rear of the car where a mouse can get into the trunk. Remove the mouse, then seal this door and you should be good. Sorry, I don't have my shop manual handy at the moment to tell you exactly where the "door" is.

HTH,
Ryan

I think it's behind the bumper, but you can probably get to it w/o taking the bumper off.

Search in UTH for "water in boot" or something like that. I think there's a thread with pics, and it also includes details on how to get to it.

Don't they make glue traps for mice? It'll be pretty obvious when the mouse gets trapped, there's no mess like from a spring-loaded trap, and it cannot crawl away to die in some mysterious place.

Those glue traps are nasty, they basically get their head stuck in the the glue and suffocate slowly. Not a good way to go IMO.
