Default Project Anyone?

I'm debating on what to do with my car. I figure I can sell my 02 S2000 one of two ways. Sell the car for under $20k as-is and let the next person do with it what they will, or return it to stock and trade it in. Either way I lose money, so what do you think I should do?

Yeah... if you've got lots of mods that people will buy from you you might make a bit of money back that way...

Private sale is always better than trading in if you can do it - even if you do return it to stock.

Oh, and remember that mods don't add value... at least not NEAR what they cost you.

No, the car is a 2002, I don't know why my details show a 2003. Right now the car has a remote start alarm, remote convertible drop, remote windows up, custom paint job, Veilside replica kit with real Veilside fender flares, and 17" and 18" wheels. By returning to stock I mean putting stock wheels, and having the body returned to stock, but I don't want to invest any more money. I'd rather have a new owner buy the car, switch out the body kit, and maybe paint it a blue color or something. Just do something different to it since it's already not stock. I'm not expecting $1 for the money I have invested in it, I just want to get rid of the car.

People generally don't buy mods. Dealers sure as hell don't.

I'd weigh the resale price and cost of each alternative and do what makes the best financial sense, but that's me. Either way you will take a bath on it, I would think the cost of returning it to stock would be too high to be justifiable, though.

Paintjob + bodywork + getting stock parts(if you dont have the stock bumpers etc) will cust you a bundle. A decent paintjob alone will be upwards to 2000 or so. If you factor all that in and the time that is needed to return it to stock, it would be smart to just sell the car as-is. BTW what rims do you have on there? You could part those out alone for some extra cash.
