Default Quick question

So I will be moving to Dallas, TX in 3 months, probably around the Addison / Richardson area. I currently live in NOLA & have minimum coverage on my S. My question to you guys from your experience is, will I need to up to FULL coverage ? Is car theft a big deal out in Dallas ? How many of you guys DD your S & what coverage do you have ? Thanks guys !

To reduce the chance of theft having your car in a garage at all times unless you are going somewhere, is a plus. I never kept my S outside, and if I did it was to run in the house to eat or grab something I forgot.

Addison/Richardson is a good area, at least much better than mine and safer. I would honestly recommend getting full coverage down here. I've heard way too many people saying their car got broken into, stolen, hit-and-run, etc.

As far as car theft I knew a few who had their cars stolen. My family had too many cars getting broken into. On my S I had full coverage bumper to bumper, Comprehensive, Roadside Assistance &Towing, Reimbursement on Rental, and some other stuff that I cannot remember at the moment, and I only paid $100/month.

Yea, in NOLA, if you dont have a loud system or ridin dubz, your car is pretty safe. Thats why I've always had minimum coverage. Do S2Ks get stolen frequently ?

Yup. Never heard of an S getting stolen, but have heard of many getting broken into. In my neighborhood you get you car broken into for having shiny hubcaps.

So who are you guys insured with ? Iam currently with Progressive & pay $423 / six months for liability. I assume getting full coverage will be double that ? I have never gotten a ticket & have a clean driving record. I would love to pay $100 a month for full coverage.

I am with farmers insurance. My neighbor owns a farmers company, and he gave me a bad ass deal. Original price was suppose to run me around $375-$425/month for the full coverage I had for $100. I also got hired to manage his company, so I'll be getting a nice discount on everything.

$375+ a month, dam, you young with some tickets
Insurance depends allot on your age and if your credit now, I'd be paying $375 a month if I was driving something Italian with a V12 under the boot.
My wife and I pay Progressive about $135 total a month for full coverage on both cars, my S2k and her Mazda5.

Yeah, I wouldnt worry about loosin the whole car, but there has been a rash of s2k gettin their seats stolen and they are 7k/seat from honda, and that will total out older s2k. I pay just over $100/mo. Me and a few others on here have insurance through my wife (she works for State Farm and her office is just N of Addison). PM me if you want her number.

I've never heard of one getting stolen, but broken in to yes. I have full coverage with minimum deductibles on pretty much everything and I pay like $140 a month, but I'm also 23. I'm not as concerned about break ins where I live, but i've been hit and run or hit by people without insurance 6 times in the last 3 years (bad luck i guess) so I keep as much coverage as i can.
