I don't know who you know, or what they drive, but collision insurance on a 9 year old paid-for car worth probably $7K is a poor investment.

are you over 25? its probably not going to be that expensive especially if you have anything other than tan seats... one member's seats got jacked less than a month ago and his top was cut twice in the span of 3 months.
WOW ! Tops slashed & seats stolen ? I would think it would be safer over there in Dallas than here in NOLA. Iam 23 making 24 this November. I hope my new place of work is'nt in the ghetto =( The S is my DD !

addison is pretty safe. richardson is not bad. both are leaps and bounds better than nola (im guessing here just based on what ive heard)

the thing is, hondas and shit are still pretty popular around here so you have little kids that cant afford shit themselves stealing stuff to put in their crappy little civics.

The car scene here is pretty small. Only a hand full of nice imports & a BUNCH of domestics. I will have a garage for when its home though. I guess in a bigger city you'll have to deal with more problems with people vandalizing & stealing. Its very RARE for cars to get stolen here. I've had 2K wheels on my cars sitting in the street, OVERNIGHT, with the topdown & NOTHING ! I guess Im really lucky or I just live in a damn good neighborhood haha

its just the lack of the cars popularity over there.

i also have a turbo buick regal and i wouldnt drive through rough areas in it because gbodies are popular around dallas.... thats just begging for it to get stolen again or for me to get jacked.

Cars don't get stolen too often, mostly bikes. I will HIGHLY recommend uninsured motorist protection with all the illegals running around here (I even have it on my bike). Saw a hit and run the other day. Followed him and gave the lady his tag number for the cops.

Hell, I have full coverage on my bike.

That's the same thing my gf told me. I really did'nt think about that. So who is 23, with a CLEAN driving history & pays the least for full coverage on here ? Just curious.

Most of the accidents I have been involved with (only been involved in 3 that actually involved a car I own, but have been that "nice guy" like 911 was many times) have been uninsured motorists or the guys that don't want to give insurance, and decide to run.

I would say get yourself a good company that give you a good deal on uninsured motorists when you get here. I don't mean cheapest, but one that will not jack up your premiums because of one, or will drop you quickly.

If your ex-military, look into USAA. I have had them my entire life (through my father, then myself) and I have had local insurance companies try to strong arm me then back off and settle when I tell them who I have.
