They aren't really fixable so you will need a new top.

How many miles do you have on the car? It IS a warranty item.

The problem is loss of stretchiness to the straps that 2 small straps pull the middle bar down.

Sign you have a problem - the top doesn't seem to lay as low down when it is down.

Solution? Modifry has add on straps.

How big of a rip are we talking about?

Small holes or tears can be patched by a good automotive upholstery shop. Where are you located? I know a good place up in Plano...

a rip about 4 inches , on the top left side next to the driver side head..

4 inches is not exactly small... you could still take it by and see if they think they can patch it...
