After 4-5 years, and depending on the amount of sun and exposure to the elements, the PVC tops become very brittle. If yours has a 4" hole in that area you are due for a new top. You can patch it but don't spend too much a new top is in your future.

 

I don't think HondaCare warranty covers the top. I have the same on my car and I'm pretty sure it's excluded (wear item).
