That sucks but it might help if you typed in NOT ALL CAPS and coherently. Also I don't see why the first accident would cause the shop to even touch your drivetrain. Are you sure it was your axle that snapped and not a blown out tire or even some suspension piece coming loose? Have you ever modified your car's suspension or messed with it?

A snapped axle itself wouldn't cause you to randomly spin into a curb and for an axle to snap a lot of other stuff must also be broken maybe from a previous owner? Maybe you should re-evaluate owning a RWD sports car being 18 and get yourself into a prelude or something safer. BTW curb is not spelled with a K, that might help with the police report.

the 2 incidents, no matter how crappy, have nothing to do with each other. previous abuse by another owner or 'something else' is what caused the axle to break.

definitely a bad situation for you, and i can imagine how upset you are. it always could be worse though.

Your threads are weird. First, you post that some guy hits you and tries to run away.. and oh, yeah... anybody want to get together over Thanksgiving.

Then you post that your axle snaps for no obvious reason.. and oh, yeah... here's my Myspace profile.

But, yeah... I can't imagine how an axle would snap on a stock S2000. Did it happen to snap while you were going around a corner? Were you hard on the gas at the time?

Maybe you're better off. Sounds like that S2000 was a death trap. Time to trade up for something safer, like an Accord or something.

I'm with Cosmos. The jumping between all caps and lower case made it appear as if he was quoting another post. Add the incoherent & incomplete sentences made me think there was a list malfunction that put me in the middle of a thread. I closed it and reopened but got the same thing.

My confusion initially stemmed from the thread title :
"I HAVN'T SPORT MY CAR FOR SHI*" - what does that mean?

Then there was the series of statements -
"PRIVATE PROPERTY THATS WHAT I MEAN SAID HE WOULD GIVE ME SOME"

next it felt like you were coming into the middle of another conversation -
"these pics are from the first accident that i had . . ."

followed by the quick transition to -
"CALIBER COLLISION

REFFERED BY
(winocowboy ---------SAYS------->>>>

"Caliber Collision on West Seventh St. in Fort Worth is great!. . . "

It was only when I scrolled down and read other posts that I figured out what was going on.

Aguilars2k although snapping an axle can put you in a spin, it is not the usual result. Why not tell us more about what happened? What lead up to it? What you were doing when it happened - middle of a curve, on a straight, accelerating, etc.? The noises it made? How you reacted? Who said the axle was snapped? etc.

CosmosMpower now tell me how a front driver would have been safer than a RWD in the same situation? I am not following you.

Having seen many axles and driveshafts snap and/or drop during racing events... I just don't see how a rear axle failure causes one to spin. And how does one go about hitting a tree and bouncing around after smacking a curb? When I smahsed my Prelude into a curb, it stopped me dead in my tracks... and I hit it hard enough to crack the transmission housing...

As for the posts that don't make any sense... maybe you should let yourself calm down a bit before posting...

As for a FWD being safer.... something like a Prelude will go into terminal understeer long before it spins under normal driving conditions... how else do you think I smack a curb so damn hard?

You guys sure can be asses sometimes.

Sure his spelling and grammar has a lot to be desired but I'm sure that's of VERY little concern to him right now. Sure part of it may be copy/pasted from another thread but who's to say that it wasn't another one of his threads on another board.

This car does require a lot of finesse to drive, but that doesn't mean every 18 year old that gets into an accident in one should go drive an Accord or whatever other FWD vehicle you may throw at him. You know my last two vehicles were trucks and the ass end would come out from under you almost as easily, it's not just this car guys. If it was something physical breaking on the vehicle then it wasn't a driver error so lay off of him.

aguilars2k: Sorry to hear about your car man, that really does suck. I would wait to see what the repair shop says. Maybe something else happened to cause this, they will have a much better "look" at what happened.

I didn't mean to come across as an ass.... he is not telling most of the story and details that matter... I have never seen/heard of an axle snapping while cruising down a road.... I have, however, heard of them snapping during a hard launch or being broke by an impact (like hitting a curb or tree)...

Like I said.... he left out every detail of the story except for the one he thinks fits because of damage to the car resulting from the wreck. It is a natural reflex to react defensively and deny having any fault in a traumatic event... I know this from my schooling as well as my person experiences after flipping my Prelude down Hwy183... it took me months to fully accept fault for the wreck and not to blame the "other driver"....

To borrow a cliche'.... denile is the first step to acceptance.

denile is a river in Egypt.

denial is the word you're looking for. (notice the use of the word YOU'RE which is a contraction of the words YOU and ARE rather than the more common word YOUR in use on this board which is possessive)

See, we pick on everyone without regard to race, color, creed, FWD, RWD, or age!!!
