David - You're on a roll man...funny stuff. This guy does post some weird shit. And I'm sure the axle snapped only after he crashed his car, confused us about it, invited us to dinner on Thanksgiving, got his car repaired by a hack shop, hit a curb, spun into someones yard while getting photographed, and smacked a tree all while trying to sport his car for shit. JC my head is spinning.
He was getting photographed while he spun into someone's yard? I didn't get that at all.
And I still don't get "sport my car for shit".
It is good to know that I am not the only moron on the list who doesn't get it.
But I am concerned about the snapped axle. Why? Could this be of concern to the rest of us?
We do need to cut him a little slack. I know that at 18 I thought I was a great driver, but that may have just been in comparison to other 18 year olds. As they say, with age comes wisdom. Now I've gotten wise enough to know I'm a good driver, just not a great driver. So that means that either I have gotten worse or else I have just gotten wiser.
But then again he does need to remember his english and grammer classes. There was a reason for all of those years in school, it was supposed to teach him how to communicate clearly with the rest of the world. This is very important for getting jobs & earning $$ so that he can afford all those nice cars he wants.
Who knows it might even be useful on his forums and other computer lists so that he could get his point across clearly and succinctly so that his threads would be about what he actually wanted to talk about.
It is strange, one of my most useful classes in HS turned out to be my Typing class. Who knew computers would become such a major portion of our lives. Hey, who knew about computers, at that time (60's) they only existed in Sci Fi novels!

I love these threads that are so confusing that they become a battle to see who can find the most grammatical, typographical or hypocritical errors!

On edit: Heh, looks like I should update the page before posting when it's been pulled up for a bit...

You guys sure can be asses sometimes.
If it was something physical breaking on the vehicle then it wasn't a driver error so lay off of him.

I just don't get kids these days. Do you really think you'll ever manage to land a worthwhile job in this country if you can't type, spell, or communicate the written English language? If you really can't write a proper sentence without technological aid, then please at least use a spelling and grammar checking program before you subject the rest of the world to your imbecilic and incoherent rants. Thank you.

Back to the subject at hand. Doug, the reason some of us are having trouble believing the story is that axles don't commonly fail unless subjected to some load well beyond the realm of even "normal" abuse such as track days or autocrosses on an otherwise stock car. Secondly, when they do fail, they typically don't automatically catapult the car sideways into the roadside foliage. In fact, with the S2000's stock differential, a single axle failure should have resulted in a car that could not transmit power to the road through either rear wheel. Given no other input from the driver, the car would coast to a stop completely on its own.
That's why a lot of us are skeptical. The lack of grammar, punctuation, or apparent intelligence in his initial post didn't help, but it isn't the primary reason for disbelief.
