I'm sorry, when did he say that he was driving while on the meds... My guess would be that he got them after hitting the tree.
Yes you are missing something... from his other thread (linked to in the first post):

The guy definitely has had some hard luck no one disputes that but due to his lack of communication skills no one has been sure if it is just bad luck, poor driving skills or he's just out and out lied. Heck, for the longest no one really knew what the problem was. We all thought his axle had snapped.
But on a slow day, lack of data has never stopped people from speculating.
He has not responded to questions nor has he been free with filling in the details. He started the whole thing by making some wild claims, shouting incoherent statements to the world and giving incomplete and inaccurate data. No one even knows what his title means. What in the heck does "sport my car for sh*" mean?
With the lack of data people can only postulate. Of course that leads to comments based upon stereotypes that may or may not fit the situation. But there is a reason these stereotypes exist - they fit the reaction patterns of the majority of people in a particular group! Women ARE different than men. The young DO act differently than the older. Northern people DO talk differently than us good ol' boy southern types. Etc. Etc.
Doug0716 there is no age or sex on the internet. Unless you bring it up they don't exist. He brought it up.
Another way to say it is that everyone on the internet is the same age. Everyone is judged the same way - by their posts. How well they communicate, how well they get their ideas across, how knowledgeable they are & their personalities determine they are commiserated with or just talked about. Just like in school.
I am constantly amazed at how young/old/ugly someone is when I meet them for the first time.
It may not be the best way to react but if you were in a group setting like a party, at the race track, in school, a seminar, business meeting, at a game or on an internet forum and someone came in and started babbling nonsense don't you think people might start making fun of them? They definitely wouldn't take them seriously. That's what happened here.
In a group setting the people who get talked TO are funny, witty, intelligible, tell the best stories, etc. The babbling halfwit on the sidelines is talked ABOUT. Now I am not saying he's a halfwit, just trying to give you an example that you can relate to. Remember Cuba Gooding's part in Radio? People didn't go out of their way to include him in the group did they?
It's true the guy has taken a bashing, but most of it is his fault. If you are going to ever get anywhere in this world you have to be able to communicate with the people around you. Why do you think most of the non english speaking illegal mexican aliens have the crappy jobs - they don't communicate well. The english speaking illegal Canadian aliens don't have the same problem. If you ever want a more than minimum wage job or be socially acceptable you MUST have good communication skills.
Forums are a good place to hone one's skills. Without you telling me I would never have guessed you were young, you can communicate. Aguilars2k on the other hand used his age as an excuse for his poor communication skills. If anything he should have better skills because he has been in school more recently than many of us.

How you present yourself on the internet is based solely on being able to construct thoughts and put them down in a logical format using proper grammar and punctuation. If you can do that, then you will avoid flack from the vultures.
However, this guy has driven his car for only a few days and has two accidents. Additionally, he cannot spell or construct thoughts in a manner that is legible without deciphering every single phrase a few words at a time. Even then, there are multiple cracks.
Expecting a great deal of sympathy under the above conditions is naive at best and downright stupid at worst.
You sleep in the bed of your own making and most 'luck' is earned through hard work and good decision making. Unfortunately, reading this guys website shows some very poor decision making from his choice of friends to his financial priorities.
I feel sorry for the guy, but this is all of his own doing.

Here is another question. Why in the world was aguilar driving while under the influence (on pills)? As I mentioned before, most accidents are avoidable and there is in almost every instance contributory negligence by both parties.
1) His first accident was a drunk driver thing. Was aguilar out late? Was aguilar impaired as well? Could he have avoided the accident by being more alert? I believe I mentioned driving defensively in an earlier post. So many people are so caught up in their on little worlds while driving that they don't have a clue what is going on around them. Some of this comes from inexperience (18 years old). I would have never brought up age if he didn't. Inexperience is a major contributor to auto accidents. Young drivers pay anywhere from 2 1/2 to 4 times what adults over 25 and married pay.
2) Look at the damage on the second accident. That is a HARD hit! I wonder how much suspension damage there is. When you hit a curb, the curb is going to win every time.
IMO this such a stupid thread. I, for one, would be a little bit apprehensive about communicating in writing if I couldn't spell or compose even the most simple sentence.
I hope aguilar continues his schooling and takes a couple of extra English grammer courses. He should also refrain from posting threads like these. Most of us are going to feast on this kind of thread.
I must now go and finish my shopping. Everyone have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

this is just so entertaining!!!
I think it's all misinformation and non of it adds up to me.
One of the things that strikes me most is his sad story about his life, yet he has an integra that's slammed with other mods I assume, and now an S2000. Yet all he does is work, sleep, and go to school, and only has 20 bucks for gas because he gives his parents all of his money. He's only 18, how many 18 year olds do you know that can afford an integra, let alone the aftermarket items visible in the picture, and then on top of that be able to purchase a S2000???
I call BS on all of his "accidents" and I am so sad to see the loss of another beautiful car to the hands of an immature and irresponsible KID.
O ya, one more thing, I don't think that car was GPW originally either. If I'm not mistaken all of the engine compartments are painted body color. At least if my memory serves me corrrect.

Yes you are missing something... from his other thread (linked to in the first post):
The truck hit his wheel... there's a good chance it messed up the suspension but the shop may not have caught it if all the parts were in the orig shape that they should have been in.

A tie rod overloaded in compression won't develop stress fractures, it will buckle or bend. His tie rod isn't bent, it is snapped. It is snapped because it was loaded in tension.
Why was it loaded in tension? Because the wheel was plowed face first into an object hard enough to snap it... along with the upper control arm.
Go back and look at the grainy pictures from the first accident thread. The damage to the front right of the car is nothing more than superficial damage - hardly likely enough to have damaged the tie rod. Heck, it doesn't even appear to have knocked the front left wheel noticeably out of alignment, and I guarantee you that any shock great enough to induce stress fractures in that tie rod would have left the front wheel visibly skewed and the tie rod visibly bent. It certainly looks pretty straight to me in the picture, which would be indicative of a tensile failure. However, even assuming that it was been a hard enough hit to damage the tie rod and the surrounding structure survived miraculously intact, it would have loaded the rod in compression, and the rod would have buckled.
The rod - from the pictures - appears to have failed in tension. It would not have failed in tension unless it was overloaded in tension, and the previous accident would have done nothing to decrease the ultimate yield strength of the material.
In other words, my professional opinion as a mechanical design engineer who spends every day dealing with structural loads is:
- The previous accident would not have caused any damage to the tie rod that would subsequently cause it to fail in the manner illustrated in this thread.
- The tie rod - and the upper control arm - failed after the initial impact in this second accident. The tie rod failure was an effect, not the cause.

I think we are clearly missing the importance of this thread here...
And that is why Honda didn't go w/ aluminum A-arms/knuckles...I'd like aluminum control arms/knuckles!

In this scenario the weakest link seems to be the driver. But it usually always is. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
But The work at caliber by the pics is a little suspect. I wouldn't have driven off with it LOOKING like that. Parts of it are painted that shouldn't be, even if the car was repainted a different color. The tire being mounted or on the wrong side of the car....it's just odd. Suspect repair quality, and a seemingly ignorant/inexperienced S2K owner appear to be the culprits.
Good to be back! -(again....) I'm gonna go pick a fight now.
