The snap was the chords breaking. The pop was the air busting through. You didn't hit anything, your tire blew.

When you supposedly hit this "soft object," did you also feel a bump???
I love how on forums, even local ones, everyone has their own version of the OP's story. My sister was in the car with me, sober, and she saw that I ran over something. It was black and smaller. The "soft object" was simply sarcasm.

And to mxt, youre a cool guy, I met you in person at ennis one time a while ago, but to be honest, I really don't care about anyone's opinion of me on here, hell I drink and ride my r6 at times. I know my limits, thanks. I dont go out and get shit faced and drive home. I go out and drink socially, kind of like about 20 s2000 owners did at bonedaddy's a week ago. Im sure a lot of them were buzzing, wanna start writing them tickets?

Whether you hit something or not, that tire was worn down to cord, which certainly isn't safe and almost definitely contributed to the failure.

I've corded enough race tires, and delaminated my share as well to look at that tire and know you've been driving on the belts for some time. It's pretty obvious.

If you can swing the baller rims, you might want to invest a few more bucks in the round black things that keep them off of the pavement.
Im not denying that my tire is bald at all, what caused the seperation was the initial puncture from the object in the road.

My wheels won't fit the stock fenders, and I haven't had the time to take my car to the shop to get them put on, hence why I haven't bothered to buy tires for the volks.

Ill do it soon enough.

Haven't you seen the commercial? "Buzzed driving is drunk driving."
Anyway, I'm just saying that it's probably not something you should admit on a public forum. Along with the fact that you were driving on unsafe tires, it just makes it look like you have a total disregard for yourself and other people on the road.

And don't listen to LMB... I kinda like the new wheels.

You might hit a bump and spill it all over yourself or the car...

this week i found 2 screws in my rear tire. i pulled them out and was happy that there was no leak. lots of construction going on in my neighborhood. if i drove with your tires it would have ended with a blown tire.
