Default Sooooo Yeah I was Speeding

Okay so I was coming to work this morning and feeling my oats so I did the usual which was merge on to 75 service road and then punch it. Well I guess back at the light was a Richardson cop who was not too pleased with my decision making. So naturally the bloody spoon pulls me over for 70mph in a 45mph zone, and proceeds to tell me how wreckless I am, I make poor decisions, blah blah blah. Since I was clearly going 115 among other things I knew he was being lenient and therefore I was very polite. I was hoping that providing a CHL would have knocked down my ticket a bit more but apparently that was not the case

Anyways my question is if I have just done Defensive Driving in Collin County can I also do Deferred Judification?? What are my options??!!

I dunno anything about Collin County. How did he catch you speeding? I see it said "Paced", how is that going to hold up if he wasn't "pacing you" or following you to know.

Yeah i noticed that as well. I did not see him until i jumped off on Galatyn Pkwy and then i saw him in the distance with the lights on. There was no way he was pacing me though. I could fight it i guess but it might be his word against mine which i found out in Dallas courts rarely wins

I see, he might of just let you off....i've heard from other people's experiences, the officer will purposely fill out the ticket incorrectly so it can get thrown out.

I'm not sure in your case, but a decent attorney should get it thrown out. Good luck!

call the court if you want to attempt deferred adjudication, call a traffic lawyer if you don't

Usually, if you don't have another ticket within the last 12 months, they'll let you have Deferred by just calling the court clerk's office and ask for it. Just call the number on the ticket and ask... I think 25 over is the cutoff for doing it, so that might be why he "clocked" you at 70...

115 in a 45? Mother of God...

What city do you live in so I might avoid it?

You can always go to court, if the cop shows up, then plea it down to deferred. If he doesn't show up, you just got dismissed.

I have one pending in Dallas for late last month, court date in February. What are the odds the cop even still works in traffic by then?

And you can do that without an attorney.
