Speeding ticket in Grapevine
Heya folks,
So I'm in town for business, and got pulled over in Grapevine 56 in a 40. (40mph on a 6 lane, wide open road, really? I guess I've spent too much time in the Carolinas...) It was completely my fault, was trying to pay attention to where I was going with GPS since I don't spend much time in Grapevine at all. He got me on radar, so no fighting it from that perspective...
I'm looking for suggestions / options. I don't mind paying a fine, but I'm not wanting to incur any points or have this show up on my driving record back home. Also, being from South Carolina taking the defensive driving class would prove somewhat cumbersome. Any suggestions you guys could give would be greatly appreciated! I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of TX laws since it's been ~20 years since I've lived here.

You can request differed adjudication from the court. You will have to pay the fine plus a court cost. You will be on probation (typically 3 to 6 months depending on the city) in the city of Grapevine and as long as you do not receive another ticket it will stay off your record.
