Things to do before I die
So, I'm playing GT4 last night, driving my S2000 on Nurburgring on the 106" pull-down screen w/the DLP projector and the Logitech force-feedback steering wheel reveling in what a big geek I am... and the thought flashed into my brain "I want to do this for REAL before I die".
So - is that possible? Can a regular person take a car and drive it on the 'ring? How do you go about setting up something like that?
That would be COOOOOOOL.

This should give you the info you're looking for: http://www.nuerburgring.de/home/index.html?L=1
Click the Neurburgring link at the top and "drive you own car".

That's pretty much what the Nurburgring is all about. The old course is open to the public during certain hours. Motorcycles, cars, taxis, buses, all can be expected. Cost is <20Euro per lap as I recall.
Oh.. sooooo coooool. I wonder if I could hook up with a German S2K owner who'd let me drive their car if I buy lap tickets for both of us or something...
I'm not really doing this anytime soon... but in a year or two.... I dunno.

No... no immediate death plans... just using that cliche to underline the seriousness of how big a deal this would be. I don't care if I ever see the Eiffel (sp?) tower or the pyramids - but VTEC on the 'ring? YES!

We should do a GT4 lan battle on your DLP screen.
I've just now officially upped the nerdism in this thread
Edit: I heard a rumor somewhere that on average, 3 people die there a month from wrecks and what not. I
Germans! They'd never let a track like that exist over here in the States.
