Angry Thinking of selling

Well I believe I can see a fork in the road in my near future. With our little girl to be born sometime in the next month, and us needing more then one vehicle with more then two seats. I think I can see the future. In fact the future might hold me trading hte s in for a minivan - perish the thought. Anyway if this does come to pass I will give anyone here first dibs, and then start my shopping. My wife likes the Odyssey and so that is what will probably take my cars place, and I will drive the truck again. After only having the car for almost a year I am pretty bummed with this thought process. On the other hand are there any sites other then kbb.com and edmunds.com for used vehicle evaluations? My 2005 has about 7500 miles - and clean oil as of Sunday - and only a slight imperfection in the paint on the passenger front fender so I think she is near perfect.

Anyway if any of you have some good valuation sites, or know of someone wanting an S send the info my way.

Expect $25.5K-$26.5K.

Logic behind that:

Invoice on a '05 was $30,334
Holdback was $994.50
Dealer Incentive was $750.00

So assume you could buy a new '05 @ Dealer Net that would be $28,589.
And there are some out there that have bought one BELOW dealer net.

Throw in the fact that there's a 2006 Model and you can expect a depreciation of 10-12% of the MSRP off the New Car Net. But you can get a few dollars back since yours is Low mileage given the model year.

Frankly I don't see why you can't have an Odyssey AND an S2000

Having two is hard. I barely drive either of my S2000's now. I loaned my '06 to my mom just so I can get the car past the break in mileage! I'll drive them even less when my civic arrives. Can't wait for track days and autocross to begin...

I wish I would have been able to get my S at invoice, unfortunately in Florida I had to wait to find a Suzuka Blue '05. I wasn't much above invoice but definitely not invoice.

Rio - Thanks for the information, that will make it very easy when I go to trade it in, if I can't private sell it. I guess I should start checking Bankston's website for the Odyssey's.

Oh and I too would love to have both, but having a truck, a '67 Ghia, a S2000, and another vehicle wouldn't let me have a garage or a driveway.

Wow - why not trade/sell the truck? I can understand wanting to keep the Ghia, but do you have a need for the truck? I would have sold my truck if I didnt have a need for it.

If you're going anywhere with the wife/kid, use the minivan.

If you're going anywhere with just the kiddo, take the Ghia or have a passenger airbag diable switch installed!

Dude, you need to keep the S!

You don't need a minivan for one kid... I'd say get a nice Accord

I hate minivans.... especially older ones... they (or, rather, the asses who drive them) are my on-road nemesis

I agree - we need a nationwide campaign... "Just say no to minivans..."

But they aren't as bad as SUVs - especially the large ones - X's, Suburbans, Tahoes, Hummers and the like. Hell I had not been in an accident since 1991 and 3 weeks after getting my S, a large Suburban with a little housewife backed into my bumper at a left turn lane traffic light! WTF was she thinking to back up at a light??? Damage was 750.00...

I agree with all your concerns, and sentiments. The Ghia is out as it is in dry storage and is before anything more than lap belts were required. The truck is paid off and therefore we are doing the how many miles can we get dance. My wife drives the truck daily and loves being up in the air, and hates SUV's.

I am thinking of some sort-of trade-off plan were we switch vehicles on the days when I need to pick-up our soon-to-be daughter. This is my prefered option, but I am preparing for the worst case.

No reason to get a minivan. I think you may be over reacting just a bit. You can easily get away with a full-size sedan with 1, maybe 2 kids. My wife and daughter really like their G35.
