Well I got a knock on my door half an hour ago. Turns out some punks in a red Dodge Durango were driving up and down the street throwing rocks at parked cars. About 10 cars were hit. Mine was one of them. There is a dent and several scratch marks on the top of the driver's door. I don't think it can be fixed with touch up paint. So its either buy a door and get a paint job or hopefully someone here is selling one from a wrecked car or something. Does anyone know an estimate of how much it would cost for a new door and paint job?

Well the dents is not big at all. The thing is that the last time I took the car into the Honda body shop for a similar size dent on the fender, they said their policy with S2000's was to completely replace the part and repaint it instead of trying to fix it up. Lets see what that they tell me this time.

 

Damage like that is easily repairable, don't let them rip you off.

 

well found out today that the front windshield is also cracked and there is a paint chip on the gasoline lid

hopefully, i can get to a body shop on Monday

Sorry to hear about the vandalism. Always makes me sick when people do that crap.

You might try local yards and see if you can find a clean, used door in the right color. Then again, insurance should probably buy you a new one.
