Default We will continue to have two license plates in TX

The bill that has been discussed is HB 3540. But only the House Committee version. See ARTICLE 9. REDUCTION IN NUMBER OF LICENSE PLATES ISSUED.
http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/cgi-bin/tlo...ERSION=2&TYPE=B

The senate version, however, has ARTICLE 9. FAITH- AND COMMUNITY-BASED INITIATIVES TO PROVIDE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/cgi-bin/tlo...ERSION=4&TYPE=B

Regardless, HB 3540 was NOT passed by both House and Senate - it never made it to the governor. It will not become law. We will not be able to run only a single rear plate.

I'm not looking to make their job any harder, but if a cop is pursuing me he's going to be looking at my back bumper anyway, so what does it matter?

Besides... if I get pulled over, a missing license plate is going to be the least of my worries!

Once my deferred ajudication time is over for "going through a barrier" with my bicycle (ya, the kind you pedal), I'll be taking off my front plate (it's been on since I bought the car 2 mos ago).

Maybe I'm a little paranoid, but I'd rather be safe than sorry right now with that stupid thing hanging over my head.

There is a cop that is always patrolling down Abrams near Walnut Hill and Royal that pulls over EVERYBODY for no front plates. I was riding with my friend in his RX300 and we got pulled over for no front plates. We tried to explain to her that Lexus usually dont put the front plates anymore but she wouldnt buy it. As she walked back to her car she immediately pulled over another person who was pumping gas.

Just giving people a heads up in that area.
