Workshops
It appears as if I am just a couple of weeks away from being able to begin building the new house.
First thing to be built will be a workshop. Does anyone have any first hand experience building one in the Dallas/FW area? I am looking for companies to build it.
Mueller is the only company that I know of in the area and although I have stopped by twice I have been unable to catch them open to see the quality of their construction.
Also does anyone have any experience with Hanger doors? Do they seal well enough to work well in our winters. The place will be heated but not AC'd and I thought hanger doors would let me open the place up a little more in the summer.
If not then I will use a roll up door, not a garage door.

I am thinking steel is the best cost/benefit and least maintenance but I am open to suggestions.
On paper it looks as if 24 x 48 is an adequate size but everyone suggests making it much bigger than I think I need because they are always too small a year later.
I have seen many different constructions but never once I was seriously considering one of my own so I never looked at them from the same viewpoint.
I will have a lift so I need at least a 12' high ceiling but everyone also tells me to go much higher. I really need to talk to some people who have done this and visit a couple to be able to make up my mind.
