Which news station were you watching? Wonder if there's a report online.
Edit: Here's a blurb on NBC's page:

McKinney Ave. Wreck
Two people are in critical condition at Parkland Hospital after an early morning wreck. The one-car crash happened on McKinney Ave. and Sneed St. in Dallas. Police say the driver of the car lost control, jumped the curb, hit a fence and slammed into a light pole. Rescue crews used the "jaws of life" to get the victims out of the car.

^ Found it at the same time.
I can't help but wonder if this is another one of those "AP1 on cold S02s" accidents (possibly with side of alcohol involved). That's most unfortunate. I hope both people recover.
