How many cars can the Claonig ferry carry?
And as Graham says, there's no booking, just first come first served.

We will be there without a doubt - just looking into accomodation at the moment - seems our usual port of call is being refurbished.....
It also seems that there may be more than one S from Bristol too!!!
Looking forward to the CAN-OBAN-BALL RUN - brilliant idea Graham.

Accomodation already!
What's the deal on Arran. Hotels/B&B/Camping?
Accommodation options include:
The Auchrannie at Brodick. Not exactly cheap, but good quality accommodation and good facilities.
The Catacol Bay Hotel - the other end of the spectrum, but a good honest pub/hotel at a very reasonable price. Good beer and WiFi too.
You could try the Castlekirk B&B in Lochranza. We've stayed there - it's a converted chapel, and the owners are nice friendly people.
The Belvedere B&B at Brodick is another good friendly place.
There's an accommodation register at http://www.visit-isle-of-arran.eu// and if you're after staying longer, Gillian Langley has a good list of self catering accommodation, or you could try the Shore House self catering apartments at Brodick. This is where we displayed the cars on AM4.
You could also try the Sannox Bay Hotel or the Lochranza Hotel.
Wineboar camped at Lochranza this year so could provide some info on the site.
Some further info. on Arran can be found www.scotland-inverness.co.uk/arran.htm]here.[/URL]

Secondly, AM5 will be featuring the newly created (in my head), "CAN-OBAN-BALL RUN". This will be a full day's trip on 5th August (the Sunday) to Oban from Lochranza (the mileage will be around 120 for the whole day). The reason for this new feature is:
To give us something to do that's different
To get on some really good quality, twisty and very scenic roads
To encourage more of the Scottish contingent to join us for the day, en route.
The Can-Oban-Ball run will last from around 9.30am to 6pm, returning to Lochranza for the usual barbecue. The ferry trip will cost around

I keep saying it, but the Kinloch is a good halfway house between Auchrannie and Catacol.
