WHERE? The Orange Tree, Chadwick End, near Solihull - Multimap link
WHEN? Saturday 27 March from 12pm onwards - probably eating from 1pm onwards
The last Midlands Meet I organised was well-attended and seemed to be well-received, so I thought I'd stick with the same venue for the next one. For those that didn't attend last time, The Orange Tree is a nice country pub which serves rather good food at reasonable prices. It's easily reached from J5 of the M42 and from J15 and J16 of the M40.
I know that this date conflicts with The Fast Show (RWYB) which AE has already posted about, but there didn't seem to be a huge amount of interest in that so it was unlikely that this proposed meet would give too many a dilemma as to which to attend. It also means that those from a bit further afield might want to consider making a weekend of it and coming along to this meet and then staying on for the Honda R meet at Gaydon the following day.
(EDIT: It's also the same day as Soapy is planning her Brum Meet II in the evening, in case anyone wants a REALLY packed s2ki weekend!)
I'll have to check with the pub that they can cater for a large party. In the meantime, stick your name down if you're interested in coming along. I'll maintain a running list at the top of the thread.
One of the RX8 admins (who posted on here as MGW last summer while pondering whether to cancel the order and buy an S instead) lives just round the corner from me - I said I'd let him have details of the meet so he and a few other RX8s in the area might turn up. The Herts meet which a few of them attended seemed to go well so I don't see any reason not to extend the invitation to this one, unless anyone disagrees violently?
