Sorry I didn't make it guys - I think the water pump broke on the Beetle and I was stranded just outside of Tarpoley before I limped back home.
Just spent £162 on bits for it - New pump, new cam belt, new cam sensor, new HT leads, new spark plugs.
A replacement engine was £250!
The thing with this car is that it doesn't have a temp gauge, just a silly light that flashes which means several different things. I plugged my computer into it and saw the OBD2 shizzle saying water temp was...errr high.
So whilst you were all enjoying the pub, I was getting soaked and burnt
