Anyone read todays threads on "Cops'n'convoys" and "Advice to future meet orgs" and have any views re our meet?
Bit late to make any changes, but should we have adopted Alert status orange / radio silence re the details of the route / timing ?

Got a bit of a fright after reading it Euan,
then I thought, hey I've organised dozens of runs for the Stag club and we never had any problems with the police (showing proper deference in case anybody's reading ),
then realised that was 15 years ago, (no Internet per se and no car club forums, sh1t I'm getting old),
then thought sod it we've posted the route, too late now.
If we were a bunch of hooligans I'd be worried, but we're not.
Most of the time we'll be on delisted roads which we would be nuts to do over 60 on.
In town we pay proper attention to speed limits and we'll be fine. Having said that, based on your recent experience, we'll probably be travelling at 20mph in town anyway.
I can understand concern from the police if they peruse a site and think that 20+ sports cars with nutters driving them are going to be blasting around the countryside, but I can't see our smallish meet with all us sensible drivers attracting much attention.
One thing I did learn from the Stag club runs was that if you put the boot down you'll lose your convoy!
We can agree the rules of the road on the morning of the meet, and if anybody's got a radar detector in their car, then they're at the front of the convoy.
For the future, I personally would have to see/hear some report from our own forum of problems before I'd worry about it.
