Initially I am just going for the standard 7-8 psi (once i figure out how to use my boost controller that is !)
I have read that running a decat and free flow exchaust in our climate might make boost regulation difficult. Which may mean aiming lower (6) but getting a higher level of boost (10).
So I am open to suggestions from your self!
On a side note, in the video posted early does it sound like the turbo is running normally on overrun? I have a BOV but need the flange welding in place.
I have read about a lot of the Americans having difficulties with boost creep but i have yet to encounter them. The main issue i have is with boost spike but i think thats due to me running higher boost levels than most of them. 10psi is nice and safe figure and should net about 300WHP. You wont need any meth for that level of boost, but if you decide you want more (which you will ) then its not a bad investment. Also if you do decide you want to go higher than say 11psi then you will need a better map sensor.
Just remember, boost is a very slippery slope. The car will seem very fast to start with, but once you've hooked up your boost controller and figured how easy it is to regulate you'll be well over 10psi.
I read that the S2k has forged internals stock, so I'm guessing it can handle some big numbers.
Any idea what turbo is used in the kit and do you have a compressor map? it would be interesting to note what PSI level that the turbo is operating at peak efficiency.
Not too much so far compared to others here but i m sure I m not done yet! I think that will be reflected in the power figures as well ! Around £3500.
The GReddy kit is unique in the fact that it is a true bolt on kit that comes complete. The ECU comes ready mapped and able to start and drive. Fuel pump and injectors included. All the little fasteners, washers, nuts, bolts and brackets. The kit is available from the notorious (:>) CTL performance now at £3200 quid all inc to your door.
I have bought a few supplementary items which i consider necessary for initial install.
1-AEM Tru Boost (£190 new) - its a boost controller and gauge in one.
2-AEM air fuel wideband gauge and sensor(£165new)
3-Blow off valve - £125 for turbo longevity and that cool noise (see link below)
You need to budget for tuning too, which is an area im going into very carefully. Fingers crossed that i can get my car to Mase when he visits the UK next.
I have also either bought or planning to buy a few other items that will spice up the basic kit in the future. I think another new clutch is inevitable soon.
