There's absolutely no way a stock S can do 0-60 in sub 6 seconds. I'd put money on it being about 6.3 or 6.4, and only if you get your start bang on.

MIRA is pretty well versed in these things (slight understatement!). If they tried it and measured it, the evidence kinda speaks for itself.

I'll take that bet.

I'd be happy to have you a sportsman's bet on it....but such a bet will never come to fruition.

I think my money would be safe though.

So would I too! How much?

There is an old thread somewhere that M1bjr (Steve) posted, he ran back to back 0-60 times on an open air field with data logging equipment.

From memory it was 5.99 something.

Have a search.

If that's correct then I suppose the evidence speaks for itself. I'll consider myself told.

I agree the S doesn't feel that quick as standards, if you really give it some you can get the thing moving fairly quickly though.

As I said that member posted loads of threads about his S. He then sold his s2000 for an R26 which he stated was far superior to the S, so he wasn't a fanboi

M1jbr now lives with S2konroids and can be found outside his house most days strumming a banjo.

Best way to launch an S is keeping the revs just above 4000 and feeding the clutch in quite quickly. Although I've not tried it in a standard car.

Not cool trying it at the lights though.
