Default 09 wheels

As per title

Quite fancy these wheels, but don't really want to soil the light handling of the car!

Anyone else gone from 16's to these?

Regards

Tom

The OEM 17's on the facelift car are lighter than the 16's when you include the weight of the tyre (not including the BBS 16's that you get on some JDM cars).

I'm not sure how the 09 wheels compare to the 04, but I doubt there will be a signifigant difference.

There's a some comparison in this video, they compare the new car vs. the old, but also try the older car with the newer wheels:

Your handling will only improve from fitting the 17s with lower profile tyres

17" tyres are heavier than 16s: here's an analysis I did of various weights: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/index.php...ost&p=20188868

I don't know the weights of the 08/09 wheels, but you'll not encounter any problems with fitting 17s.

Honda stated (wrt the USDM CR) that they were the lightest 17" they'd used.

They are the same wheel.

Unfortunately, a search reveals that no-one has actually succeeded in finding out the factual figure. This guy weighed them, but with balance weights & TPMS still attached!

Unfacts, Mr. Gradgrind

They are very nice, I fancied those myself. I went with the 10 spoke 07/08 17"s in the end. As has been said, they weigh a bit more yes but nothing to worry about as the handling is much improved when coupled with good tires.

If you find a set for a good price, go for it

Handling's made more "grown-up" & less thrilling (at least it is on the Mugens) if you consider that an improvement...
