Can anyone tell me if the 2002 stereo (single cd) has an auxiliary input? I'm looking at buying a MP3 jukebox and the normal way of connecting to a car hifi involves a dummy cassette type link. Obviously I won't be able to use one of those.

If no aux link, any other suggestions on how to connect?

Thanks

The only external input on the Honda headunits is for their CD changer which is a proprietary version of Alpine's M-bus.

My 2p on this is to sell on your 02 headunit and replace it with a cheapish aftermarket tape deck to use with the MP3 caddy. You can get Aux inputs on most of the Alpine & Pioneer ranges but the offboard input boards (they are optional) add to the cost of the new headunit.

Thanks Tifosi,

At least I now know the situation. I thnk I will therefore have to resort to buring CD's to keep in the car. I liked the idea of having a range of music on an MP3 player, but I doid not want to lose the fingertip controls for the player.

Thanks for the input. I am sure the driving experience & sound of the engine singing to me will make up for the lack of MP3 (which I wolud have difficulty hearing at 80mph anyway)

Cheers

John

Fair play, don't forget that both Alpine and Pioneer do dash control interfaces though so you needn't lose the S2000's handy controls.... they also do MP3 playback decks and changers to use with MP3s burnt onto CD

Thanks Tif,

that saves me taking the stereo out next weekend just for a look.

I bought the MP3 player this weekend, so there's no going back now! I don't want to "downgrade" to a tape head unit, so I need to find another way.

Upgrading the head unit to one with an aux input would seem best, but I wasn't planning on spending money on this in the near future (a radar detector is further up the pecking order). So the only other option I can think of is an FM modulator. Anybody know anything about these, or where I can get one? The manager in Dixons just had a blank expression when I asked him

cheers

Neil
