Default 2008 Model

Just noticed while surfing the ITV-F1 site that Honda UK are advertising the S2000. it's even the right model with the new wheels.

Right up until you try to get more info. at which point it takes you back to the old site with the 07 colour combo and wheels.

I think that HUK seem less than bothered with S2000 sales effort. other European Honda divisions updated their web sites with the new model weeks or months ago. No wonder people buy imports.

Honda's popular roadster, the S2000 is getting a revamp too. It's already excellent handling and performance characteristics for which it is renowned will be enhanced by new suspension, identical to that currently on the Japanese spec Type S version. Hailed for its exciting and engaging drive, the S2000 be awarded with numerous driver power surveys.

Not clear given the articles focus if this is the 2008 or a pre announcement for the 2009 spec due in the Autumn.

Type Honda marketing of the S2000 - half arsed.
Their attitude is it sells itself

Type S suspension! I wonder if any other Type S parts will be fitted?

Chris.

Almost certainly as it's built in the same factory

Honda uses a two-year revamp cycle so there won't be an '09 as such. Unless you count termination as a revamp. There IS a rumour the replacement might be in '09, if it's not in '11. Or...

HUK has consistently been late in announcing the upgrades; the '04 & '06 ones were closing the stable door after the barn conversion.

But ooh wait; there's a new Diesel Accord coming! Be still, my beating heart!

Surely 2009 is it's last year due to the emmisions regs. If that's the case then far from "special" type S the last cars built are more likely to be parts bin specials.

Probably, since it's hardly worth homologating the F22c this late.

Might be quite fun if Mugen could produce their nutter version in low-volume production; a sort of Japanese Caterham 7 operation!
