Default 3 button remote...

Got a 3 button remote when i bought the car (as well as the 2 standard remotes) but dont think its programmed in to work? Tried pressing the boot release one day and it set the alarm off! Is this an easy task to do? I've got a mate who fits alarms so may ask him but just wondered how complicated it is do?

Honda gave me a 3 button remote for MY51, then turned round and told me a month later that they couldnt programme it for my car because it required the two button remote as it was an earlier car.

It will lock and unlock the car / open and close the boot but wont turn off the immobiliser to start the car.

The three button remote is the factory unit that came with the car from Japan. However, as all pre-MY04 cars were retrofitted with immobilisers by Honda UK, it was replaced by the two button remote (that you also should have got with your car).

The only use for that remote is boot button, but then again, you can (in theory) open the boot with the two button remote. (Press unlock a second time with an unspecified and randomly generated number of seconds ... )

I open my boot with the 2 button fob, but it is a bit hit and miss.
Mine changes from time to time but at the moment if i press and hold the unlock button for about five seconds the boot opens. (but only if the car is already locked)
In the past i have had to press unlock once then straight after press and hold unlock
Hope this helps mate
