Default 54,000 mile service schedule

The cars got 53,000 on it at the moment so thinking about servicing at the moment.

I'm still pretty narked with Honda after the 236 mile thing (car left at 2 mills for 4 days for work to be done. Came back with an additional 236.6 miles on it) so having a look at the service schedule.

Got a choice of:
DIY it (not planning on selling in the near future) - perfectly capable of stripping an engine let alone service it. Just a case of what I can be bothered to do myself and any specialist equipment I might need.

Go independant - Likely to be cheaper than Honda and if I find a good one better done as well but there's the risk of getting a bad one

Honda - Pricey, my confidence in Honda dealers and Honda UK is seriously shakey at the moment but at least you've some come back if something went seriously wrong

FIRST QUESTION:
Anyone know any good independants within, say, 50 miles of chester area?

Gave Saunders Honda a ring to get a basic cost.
First comment was "It's a major service" and basic cost was

Not so long ago there was a massive thread about servicing and spark plug changes and near the bottom of that thread is the current service schedule for the 9000 service interval from Honda in pdf format.

If you cannot find it, pm me your email address and I will send it.

Stunning, cheers Davey.
So yeah, diff fluid change required at 54,000 mile. Also looks like the quote was seriously OTT though too. Whilst having a look around found a few threads on 54,000 mile services and looks like I shouldn't really be paying over

Service it yourself - that's what I'm going to be doing in future (I've decided not to let any cowboy Honda dealers near my car again!):

BTW adjusting the valve clearances is a piece of cake (as long as you have angled feeler gauges) and changing the diff oil is easy too (and you can make sure the right oil is used - buy yourself a good trolley jack and axle stands with the money you save and you'll have more than enough clearance to do this job).
