Question

Just went down to the local ICE place to pay the deposit for the installation of all my new stuff into my new S and was pretty shocked by the price.

That is high, even considerng the speaker cables thrown in. However, I am impressed that they are actually going to replace the stock speaker wiring with some decent stuff (although a bit more detail as to what it is, wouldn't go amiss).

RCA's are the pre outs on the headunit (the phono type, coaxial plugs).

Means you can use better wiring and go through an amp ..

Taking the HU surround out WITHOUT scratching anything takes about 5 hours

Seriously though 7 hours is about 30 quid p/h. So it's reasonable in terms of cost. Dunno whether 7 hours is justified though.
