Default aaaarghh....... gutted.....

There I was looking forward to taking delivery of a shiny new s2000, (al a T1MBO) next week, only to get a phone call yesterday from the dealer :

"Hi, just wanted to let you know that delivery has been delayed for a few days."

"Oh, nothing wrong is there?" -- momentary alarm, followed by increasingly nightmarish visions of a car scratched on forecourt, damaged in workshop, hit by a meteor or stolen by aliens bent on spoiling my day....

"No, no, everything's fine. There is a little delay in the car being delivered to us that's all"

"Oh, why's that then?" - genuine interest...

"Well, it would appear Honda are having are such a good year this year, one of the best ever. apparently it has thrown them off a little and they are a bit behind, no big problem!"

"Well, nice for "Mr Honda". So when will I able to pick it up?" - expects a couple of days extra at the most....

"Ah, well, urm......"

"Yes" - Sinking feeling in pit of stomach....

"Sometime around the 19 September I'm afraid...."

" " -- Gutted silence.

"You still there?"

"Yup, thanks matey" - not much to say really......

"Well thought I'd better let you know, I will chase them regularly for you and see if we can get an earlier delivery. Sorry, speak soon."

"If you could, that would be great....... Bye."

oh well, back to reality........

Was really hoping to come to the Supermeet and put some faces to the names, but I guess I shall be coming to the next one..........

Congrats T1MBO, enjoy.........

am off to drown my sorrows......

The best things come to those who wait. In the case of the S - never a truer word spoken!

You have my sympathies.
This has been asked before, but why cant Honda get their fingers out. It's just so frustrating

My dealer still keeps telling me that my S should still be here for September 1st. As was originally quoted.
I am getting more and more sceptical about that every time I read a post on here.
I can't see how he can say mine's ok when just about everyone else has been delayed.

The suspense is killing me.
But I guess it would give me more time to get rid of my Camaro.

Fletch,

I am in the same situation as you. i called my dealer in Belgium last week. They told me that they had had an update, which said that htere was no change tot he expected delivery date (Oct). However they also told me it was not on the production line yet....

So I am hoping that the car will arrive in Oct, but realistically not expecting it till...whenever

My only concern would be a price increase. I have been told that this is a traditional December thing with Honda (perhaps they need the money to cover their Xmas party). So as long as it arrives before December I will be Ok about it. (but the wait is torture!!!!!)

John

There is this nice little clause that says the price can be revised if there is a price hike. I don't think it will come to that as the dealer in Antewrp has been very reasonalbe each time I called

Sorry to hear the bad news on the delay of your S2. It will be worth the wait.

Lets us know how you get on.
