ABS
Well, took the car into work today to fill up with V-Power.
On the way home, as I can never resist with a full tank, I gave it death
Coming upto a bend 70, brake, go over a little rut and the ABS goes all schitzo on me locking the OSF and NSR wheels!
Then about 2 miles down the road, admittedly after setting my brakes on fire, it wouldn't let me brake at all!
This is the first car i've had with ABS and of the others i've driven, I never liked it anyway.
Anyone else had the ABS getting it wrong?

Honda S2000 brakes are hooked up OSF to NSR and NSF to OSR to ensure that if something is wrong - you at least have some braking.
Something looks wrong with your car and it seems to be doing it's job properly.
Get it checked out.

Yeah, seemed ok pulling up, no warning light.
Just that I find it silly.
TBH, I think the cut in might have been because of the no brakes left. It bloody stank and there was smoke pouring off the wheels!
However, the fact they it went a bit mental over a small yump (admittedly braking firm) is disconcerting.

What pads are you on? they sound shite!
It'll be the bump/groove in the road that did it when you were braking hard
Thats just typical ABS for you, it's quite keen on the S as well which is a shame, i'd like to turn it down a bit if you could

If you hit a rut hard whilst on the brakes, the wheel might lose contact with the road, meaning it locks whilst in the air, and the ABS will activate. This can easily be recreated by braking hard from any speed on a bumpy surface.
Quite what you're doing driving hard enough to cook the brakes on a public road, I'm unsure.

There's a bit of the dual carrigway out of Banbury that has lots of horrible ruts in the road and once I nearly didn't stop before the roundabout because of the ABS took away all the braking power.
Clearly your second problem is brake fade, although quite how you've managed to get them smoking I don't know. Are they partly seized?
