ABS light

Default ABS light

Gents,

I get an ABS light at high speeds (only happens at high speeds), now I've had it for a while but just forgot about but I'll be off on an airfield day soon so i would like to get it sorted.

Where do i start other than firstly getting the code read?, i think it could be something to do with the ribbed ring and NOT a sensor?

Can i get/clean the sensors without removing the wheels?

I'd like to look under the car but not 100% sure what i should be looking for, does anyone have any suggestions?

Update,

All sensors and pulse rings look fine, no cracks or missing teeth. Distance between sensor and ring is within tolerance too.

Any ideas, before i get the code read?

You can read the code with a paper-clip on the ODBII

I would say a bit of wire brush on the abs rings would do the job - or a clean on the end of the sensors..

Joeh,

Did exactly that mate, wire brush, brake cleaner and feeler gauges used - no cigar though, light still comes
on.

I'm pretty sure the paperclip method only works on JDM cars ?, not treasure island UK cars. I know for sure the paperclip method doesn't work for reading CEL codes.

Is the ABS socket different from OBD2 sockets?, as i notice the normal OBD2 port but a green socket too.

You could be right about JDM cars as I haven't had a chance to try it on a UK one yet..

Still must be worth a try right? Join pins 9 & 4 AFAIK- Pop out if you have a few minutes and give it a go

OBV long flash = +10 and quick flash = +1

I know it works on USDM cars to say the least, so UKDM should be fine (hopefully)

Just saw your edit - I managed to get ABS, PAS and EMS codes from the ODBII (paperclip method) so you shouldn't need to use anything else

Anyone got any ideas, i replaced the sensor and still no joy, any ideas?

Could be a wheel bearing, but how can i tell?, again pulse wheel and sensor are fine.

17's mate, and even wear the geo is spot on as the tyre pressures too.
