Default AEM V2 Problems

So I've just taken the V2 off.
Every time it's a bit wet my car gets sluggish, then I had the firhgt of my life, vtec and nothing happened, just slugged with no power.
Oil change and tappets hopefully it's sorted, no problems, but again in the wet, same problem.

So it's off, and back on with the OEM minus the box. Only for now, but what a difference, no roar with 3-4 rpm, but vtec is much punchier. But tails off, with the v2 I always noticed 8-9rpm it absolutely roared at you, but this has gone, but it was very rare I was ever up there.

So I'm not sure what to do, I need induction, I'm not bothered if I gain 2 or lose 2 bhp. All about the noise for me (chav)

Did you plug the drainage hole in the engine bay?

Cant see it was water ingress, unless it was poorley fitted. Ive got a fujita which is almost identical with no problems, even in heavy downpours.

Did you bypass the coolant pipes and fit an engine breather like me?

Did you drive through a huge puddle, submerging the front bumper??? Thats the only way you'll get water in an AEM!

As asked earlier, have you blocked up the drainage hole above where the filter sits ?

When you found water in the filter, had it been parked up and been raining heavily before you took the filter off ?

If the answer is yes I'd suggest you need to block up the drainage hole.

I've had no problems at all with hydrolock or water in the filter. I have the drainage hole blocked and the V2 came with a bill valve to allow any water collecting in the intake to drain. Others on the US forums have fitted an umbrella to prevent water dripping onto the filter when standing...

The drainage hole wasn't blocked, it had the flap on it.

No puddles, it was parked on my drive (on a slope) overnight before I took it off.
