OK Jo just went and checked for you, there are 4 poppers to do. Put your hand in the bottom of the air guide V and right to either end, pull it towards the front of the car and there is one each side, the other 2 are inline with the bump where the bonnet catch is.

This is what your looking/feeling for.

See the small gap between it and the collar of the ring, insert knife or screwdriver there and tug it up, the centre can come right out and then just pull the outer off too.

This job is made much easier if you undo the four screws attaching the air guide to the cross-member in front of the airbox and push the air guide down and behind the cross-member.

Gives vital room for your hands

Nearly there !!!

Haven't used the metal clip - not a clue where that would go, and airbox lid is NEARLY on - just the clip to the right hand side of the Muz where the funnel used to be won't go on - we seem to need to have to compress the Muz to get the airbox lid to close - an impossible task !!!!

Any tips?

You need a very long screwdriver to lift the heads in the middle of the clips, ten to lift them out of their holes.

They're easy, once you get the knack.

Squash the guide flat, twist one end upwards in order to get it out.

Now train as a veterinary surgeon!

Yep done that bit Nick, or rather Kelk did accompanied by a degree of swearing !!!!

Now stuck cos don't have an appropriate tool to adjust the bonnet catch - Kelk now en route to home base to get a socket thingy, otherwise can't shut my bonnet...

Also can't do up the final air box lid clip, as the Muz is pushing it so far there's not a chance of shuttin git, which I'm not happy about - will post pics for tips when got Kelk's lappytop fired up as mine doesn't have the digicam s/w on it.

That is bcause the outer skin of the air intake is too fat/misshapen.

If the clips won't do up with reasonable force (the rubber beading seal should be compressed evenly), then it's all gotta come off again.

Likewise, the frame of the lid should require minor upward attention with a ball pein hammer.

Depends now bad it is, but from where I'm sitting, it sounds like yet another dodgy moulding, I am sorry to say.

Frame of the lid requires attention - what do you mean?

If this doesn' fit I'm screwed as the air guide is never going back in one place, and I've had to take those rivets out for the funnel for the air box, which is a one-way process.

I'm sorry to say this, but if the airbox lid won't close then the snorkel is poorly moulded (i.e. is too big) and shouldn't be used IMO

You must be able to close the lid of the airbox properly - otherwise it defeats the purpose of the snorkel.

I would also suggest that if the snorkel does not fit properly into the airbox, you also won't be able to shut the bonnet properly either irrespective of how much you adjust the bonnet catch...

Muz really needs to sort these snorkel moulding issues Would save people A LOT of grief.
