Sounds like you are switching off the motion sensors - see my post above.
All I did was turn the alarm on with the roof down. I thought that to deactivate the motion sensors you had to press the button more than once?

Insurance companies don't care as all S2000s have an immobiliser as standard, the only reason I could see for having one is if you have an expensive stereo - but then, how often have you heard a car alarm go off and done something about it.....

Don't bother, it will only screw up your remote boot release, which is far more important IMHO
Hmm, the remote boot release is extremely handy.

I've just checked. Managed to open the car with the key, and then open the bonnet with the car locked, to find no black box on the left. Its official. No alarm.

Its an EU import, and according to the FAQs, they don't come with an alarm as standard. Does seem strange for such a car that isn't that old not to have one though.

Strange, I could have sworn it was advertised with an alarm. Time to check the paperwork and make sure it does have an immobiliser!

AFAIK all S2000's have an immobiliser as it's part of the ECU/ ignition circuit. There's a chip in the key that deactivates it when you put it in the ignition - check for the green key sign on the dashboard when you start the car.
