Default Alarm

Ive had my S2K for 8 weeks and its been fine apart from the geo but that is another thing! tonight the alarm has begun playing up, it suddenly went off and now when I try to lock the car and activate it all I get is a high pitched whine so I have had to use the key to lock it. Any advice peeps

The alam's on the S2000 are a nightmare, if it's playing up it could be on it's way out. I started getting lot's of problems with mine last year, in the end it got so bad that we just had a new cat1 fitted. Since then it's been perfect, payed around

If it turns out that corrosion is the issue, perhaps cleaning up the contacts would be a cheaper alternative to forking out

Get in touch with Hamilton Palmer, they are based in Sevenoaks and they fitted all the standard alarms.
They are very helpfull.

thanks Guys, I have found that the open boot light is on all the time so I presume the high pitched whine is the alarm thinking the boot is open. Funny enough this happened after I washed the car, I dont use a hard water spray either, bucket first then gentle hose so not to force water into any unwanted places. I'll go see my garage at the weekend. I'll let you know the damage!
