Default alarm going off whilst jet-washing S2K (hard-top not on)

Today I washed the car at the jet wash for the second time since I've had it (a week) . No probs the first time, but this time the alarm kept going off. Routine was car would self arm and say 10 secs later the alarm would go off: I'd press the unlock on the key fob and all was OK until the car self-armed/locked again and the alarm went off again say 10 secs later again. Happened about 4 times .

Anyone else had the same problem with an 04?? The 03 never gave the same problems (and had a helluva lot more piercing alarm for that matter).

What's a guy to do??

All you need to do is open the door, turn the ignition all the way but you don't need to turn the engine on, switch it off and the the alarm will not rearm until you blip it. I have the same problem with my 03.

Yeah, mine sometimes goes off when washing or polishing.
Nothing like as bad as my wife's Celica though.

I'll try the key in the ignition thing.

To disarm alarm press button once should flash 4 times. Then press indented button within 30 seconds and should flash 3 times. Turns off sensors inside car!

Not sure if the 04 is the same as mine, but for me you set the alarm as normal then arm it a second time at which point the alarm is set without the motion sensor active. (Very useful when windy outside) There was a thread on this procedure somewhere

I tried this but the movement of the car whilst washing was still setting off the alarm

Just disarm it and open and close a door.
= Alarm off.

Mine sometimes goes, off when washing, I have narrowed it down to when i spray the drivers side of the bonnet - dunno why it would do it though. For this reason i disarm it when washing. Sometimes it goes off after leaving the car parked post washing session I just think it is screaming with delight at being so shiny!
