Default Alarm Problem

Hi guys,

I've got a problem with my alarm and thought I would ask if anyone had experienced this before whilst I'm on my way to Milton Keynes.

Before we left I popped out to the car to grab something and I opened the boot from the remote, shut it again (because I didn't need the boot) and opened the passenger door. At this point the alarm starting going off and no matter which button I pressed on the remote it wouldn't stop! I then shut the door, went round to the drivers side and out the key in the ignition, didn't stop so I started the car and it stopped. Briefly. It then started going off again so I assume this was just a timeout on the alarm sound.

I then turned the car off and shut the door at which point the alarm stopped going off, ive left it locked ut im concerned that I need to drive back to Birmingham in the morning and I can't really do that with the alarm going off the whole way!

Anyone experienced anything similar or have any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Hi aaronrhodes

The only time I had something similar was when the battery in the fob started getting low. Also check the main "arm" button isn't jamming as the rubber sometimes catches. It is worth looking at the battery contacts and maybe cleaning them especially if the fob has gathered dust/gunk from somewhere.

I'm sure others will point out other possible reasons. Good luck!!

Thanks very much for the reply!

When you say the arm button, what do you mean exactly..? Is that something in the door jam?
