Hi folks ,
as some of you may know , my brand new car developed an alarm fault when it was delivered to us. Basically kept sounding off for no reason .
On the way to the Herts meet , it also decided to cut out twice , whilst driving

My car was eventually sent back to the Honda Dealer this week . I mentioned that i had seen a few comments about alarm faults on the S and he had heard of none ( i do believe him )
The dealer contacted the alarm specialist on Monday , and they have just came back to him to say it needs a complete system change Four days to work that out eh , impressive

Why the spam do they not call them back before delivery when they know there is a revised unit available eh ?

So , heres where you guys can help me .

If you have had an alarm fault with the OE fitment , please could you describe it , and also what was changed by the dealer to rectify it .
I intend to confront Honda directly with with this problem , as i feel the supplier / installers are letting us all down .

Thanks

My car has now been with the dealer longer than it has been with me

Only had a couple of problems with mine - both self-generated.
a/ flattened battery in the early days
b/ luggage in boot interfered with boot sensor

Know better now

MY imobiliser got out of sync with my keyfob once. Had to get a new one from Honda which was resynced to my fob. Had a replacement one from a CTR under warranty fitted within about 45 mins and swapped back when the replacement arrived.

No problems since - but I haven't run the key fob down since mind you...

Similar problem here! I was troubled by the car alarm going off when driving - especially over bumps. Tracked the fault down to the second set of keys being in the bottom of my laptop back, in the boot (I'd been meaning to ask the wife where she'd mislaid them )

Never had any problems with mine - been set of once or twice by very strong winds, but that's about it.

I do now always carry a spare set of batteries after I was able to unlock my car with the key fob, but not deactivate the immobiliser . Seemingly a low on power battery can do one task... but not the other.

Same here. I think the sensitivity can be adjusted though. Must get around to it one day.............
