Default alarm problems

Wonder if anyone here has had similar issues and can advise me what the problem is:-

Car is a 2001 UK model with the standard alarm as supplied with the car.

The alarm keeps going off at seemingly random times, according to the number of flashed of the lights it is being triggered by the movement sensors in the cabin.

I've had it go off occaisonally when its really windy or raining very hard, but on these recent occaisions its been very calm with no rain.

The only thing that has happened which appears to be coincedental is that I recently had the car valeted, and these problems only appeared to start after it was valeted. I first thought that maybe the sesnors had been nudged, as they were pointing at the roof, so moved them to point at the seats, but this made no difference.

Now I'm thinking that maybe when they jetwashed it some water has got in somewhere and is causing trouble, does anyone know where the electronics are for the alarm , are they with teh siren or seperate somewhere else?

Cheers for any input.

You should get a duel zone microwave sensor - sounds like you have ultrasonics. The dual zone works with the roof down. I'll PM the most likely location of the electronics in case any chavs are watching!
