Default ALARMING PROBLEMS!

hi guys,

I have a MY00 s2k with the standard CAT1 alarm, for some reason it goes off in the middle of the night only once but once is enough to wake myself and neighbours up. Is this a common problem? anyway i can adjust it without taking it to my dealer?
Can wind blowing through the soft top roof cause it to alarm? Im still yet to see whether the problem still exsists when i replace the hardtop.
I may think about getting an aftermarket alarm if the problem still persists? any recommendations? I was going to go for the clifford/avital alarm.

Thansk in advance

If it is windy then the sensors inside can make the alarm go off, but it has to be pretty windy for that. Are you leaving your roof down at night, if so try disabling the sensors by locking the car, after 4 flashes press the lock again and you should get 3 more flashes. This has disabled the internal movement sensors. If you have done all this, then get it checked out.

Yes, the wind can shake the roof enough to set off the alarm. I beleive you can get the sensitivity of the alarm adjusted though. Have a word with your dealer.

does anyone know where this can be adjusted? Im not really wanting to take it to a dealer but if it persists maybe I shall have to.

off topic here but I love setting off other people's alarms with my HKS. It is great.
