Default Alive again!

As some of you know my 5 week old MY05 was keyed & vandalised a few weeks ago & needed a full respray. I picked it up all pristine & looking stunning from Arnold Clarks (Honda) in Altrincham on Friday & immediately blasted off to Angelsey for the weekend.

Arnold Clarks have done a great job. It looks as it did when i first picked it up from BG's back in late May. There is a small buffing scuff on the front bumper near to the left side light cluster. It is going back this week for half a day for this & some minor warranty work on the stereo to be sorted.

Needless to say i am grinning like the proverbial cat again & am delighted with the result & service. Feels so good to back in the S after 2 weeks in my Focus.

The drive to Angelsey was a bitch though. Shit weather combined with bad driving (middle & outside lane hoggers are my pet hate!!). Met some friends at a little thief off the A55 near Halkyn & we decided to cut inland a bit further on to get away from the A55 hellhole. We turned off near St Asaph & took a long winding route southwards & ended up going throught the Llanberis pass up to Canarfon. Have never been there before & it was amazing. The rain had stopped about 5 miles inland & i went top down. Had to dodge a few showers but it was worth it.

Took these pics with my phone somewhere before the Pass. I had left the others behind in their 4x4's & beaters while i blasted ahead. I wish i'd been able to take some of the pass. It was magnificent. Will definetly be going back when the weather is better!

glad to hear they have done a good paint job. We supplied them with their spray booths so i'm glad to hear they are using them properly!

I told you Arnold Clarks were good, although I've never used them for body work! Must call the very helpful Jane later and book my 45k service in. Where was your car attacked by the way - I gather you live somewhere near me and I'm really paranoid about where I leave it, despite it being four years old now.

By the way, you weren't cruising around Altrincham about a month ago on a Tuesday evening were you? When the weather was grrrreat, I was sitting in the Weatherspoons around 9pm with a mate and one the same as yours kept passing by - thought it might be you! It's one of my favourite cruising areas!

Cheers mate!

Neil,

It was the Bears Paw on the A50 near Knutsford.

Dunno about 'cruising' around Altrincham mate!!
Not my scene. If you mean was i suavely meandering through, then yes it might
have been me although there is a private plated Moorock S i see near my apt sometimes.

Yes, you weren't wrong about Clarks. Was very impressed overall. My mineral/synthetic change over is due in a couple of thousand miles & i'll pop into them as i will when the 1st service is due.

One of my favourite 'cruising' places is down the A538 & through the tunnels under the airport (with VTEC of course), then into Wilmslow & one of several routes back. Also love the road on the side of the Goyt valley above the lake. Fantastic fun. Should try it.

Yeah, perhaps my use of the word 'cruising' does imply I'm an 17 year old with blue neon under my car! I normally have a stroll through Altrincham to see if I know anyone and then head up to Wilmslow via the tunnels!

When I got the car, 3 1/2 years ago, it was January 2nd - I brought it back from Woking in -7c and was petrified! The first 'proper' drive out where I pushed it, I went on round Buxton and found myself coming home through the airport tunnels behind a friend on his Kawasaki (sorry, I don't know anything about motorbikes, all I know was it was a fast one!) - I won't say on here what speed he said we did though there (I couldn't look at the speedo!) - all I know is that I was shaking for 10 minutes after with a grin that lasted until I fell asleep!

Anyway, I've gone somewhat off topic, so I'll get me coat!

Enjoy!

No i was thinking of the type of cruising enjoyed by 'gentlemen' of the limp wrist & mincing walk fraternity!! All leather chaps & bare arses, if you know what i mean!

Am contemplating a blast up to the Goyt this evening if the weather behaves itself. Anyone fancy it?

YIKES! Did I forget to mention that my extremely good looking girlfriend was in the car during the airport tunnel event?!!! As we got together about a month after getting the car, I think the S was part of the reason she started seeing me - perhaps she left me the other week cos I need to get a newer one!!!

No can do this week for a blast, got loads on - haven't even managed to use the S this week - I've got annoying rusty brake-disk syndrome!

Have fun though!
