Bushes, suspension, alignment, semi slicks. That's it IMO

Biggest improvement will be in the driver.

I'd say budget 4.5-5k and do a track day a month.

This, and maybe some sensible brake modifications.

Then instead of slapping on every modification you can get your hands on, spend time driving the thing so when you do take it further you can actually feel the difference and make better judgements on what to spend your money on.

Nail on head ^^

Possibly a bucket seat too. I'd add making your driving position as comfortable and secure as possible.

If I had an unlimited budget I could easily spend over £50k on the car.

Best way to spend your money for a 'track friendly' car is to concentrate on reducing weight.

Let's say you've got the opportunity to do a supermarket sweep and choose any and all mods for your car: how much would the final bill come to? £8k, £15k, £30k, £more?
Mark doesn't know anything about S2000s'

He's only owned them for about a week (all of them)

... and if you wait a few weeks you can probably buy all of MBs mods for 2p.
