Default Another Geo Question

I took the car to get the alignment done this morning and handed over the revised Honda UK spec sheet, the chap set about getting it done. He got the rears to where they wanted to be, and the fronts hit spec as well with the exception of caster which maxed out at 4.5 degrees.

The car has been lowered about 30mm on H&R springs, has had all the bushes changed with poly except for the caster bush which was changed with a Mugen item. Could the lowering be the reason I cannot get the caster to 6 degrees?

I'm not too bothered, the car seems to drive really well now and is much better than I remember it to be it just seemed a bit odd that all the other settings got reached except caster.

Mine's about that low and also have the Mugen caster bushes, and had no trouble getting over 6 degrees castor.

I seem to remember there was a mark on the bushes that had to line up. Maybe yours are fitted the wrong way round?

Checked the cam washers are facing opposite directions on the compliance bush bolts?

The bushes are definitely in the correct way, I dot punched the arms so that I knew which way the bushes should go.

I don't follow, are you saying that they should be opposite from the top to the bottom or that they should be the same? Or are you talking about from one side to the other ie left to right?

It's good to hear that someone else is running the same setup and able to get the right caster, I wonder if the guy doing the alignment thought that they were maxed out but were really running the minimum amount?

Has anyone got a pic of which way they should face when they are at their maximum?

it's common for the top cam washer to be fitted 180 dec's out to the bottom i've come across it half a doz times which then gives no adjustment as they cancel each other out when turned, 4.5 does sound like the min setting

We've just bushed and renewed the adjuster pins on Lee's car to day, his car is lowered maybe 30-35mm and with the lobes on the caster cam pointing to the rear of the car ie in the central position we had 6 dec, with the cam lobe pointing to the middle of the car (max caster) 7.5 and with the cam lobe pointing to the outside of the car (min caster) 4.5
