Default Any reputable S2K diff builders in the UK?

Now the winter is upon us, I’m looking to get under the car again and tinker.

Last year I bought a 4.44 diff, but it made a terrible whine and clunking noise. I’m now looking to build\buy a 4.77 diff. I understand the gear-set is from Kia, but struggling to get hold of part numbers for pricing.

In addition, I’ve been speaking to Puddymod in the US (famous on here for building diffs), but sadly the shipping costs look to be cost prohibitive

Is there anyone in the UK who has a good reputation for reconditioning\building S2000 diff’s? Mainly sourcing and installing the 4.77 gearset, new bearings, setting the backlash correctly etc. I'll need to source a donor diff.

Thanks in advance.

Graeme

Only one person I would trust with a diff rebuild and that's Ray aka Mr Daytona.

Hey Robin,

Hope you're well.

Good shout. Actually, I spoke to Ray earlier this year to see if he could assist with the dodgy diff and was very helpful, but didn't take it any further. I'll speak to him and see if he can build me a 4.77 with Kia gears, he may know all the part numbers and done it before.

Can buy them here, but no mention of part numbers - 4.77 Final Drive gear only SPECIAL

Not sure what the "installation parts" kit includes. He's not responded to my query from last week.

Looks like I can get it for £250 shipped on Amazon, part number 0K01427110 -

Do you mind me asking who you used? Cheapest i can find so far is £360.

Assume you're happy with the diff? Stage 1.5 or 2? Which ratio?

Stage 2, standard ratio as I’m SC’ed

A chap named Ron who runs STS shipping brought mine back.

Google them and give him a call. Ben was happy to work with them for me.

Diff seems fine, we’ll see if it handles the power over the next summers Trackdays.
