I did this to my Sony as well, I think these holes are pretty much standard

Also uses the stock brackets and no cage on my pioneer.

I used the honda brackets but with the pioneer HU, you are stuck between 2 sets of holes. One set is too far back meaning you can't get the HU surround on thus leaving an unsightly gap, the other set is too far forward thus making the flap press the button.

I may look at modifying the jog wheel as it sticks out a very long way and I can't see any good reason for it to do that.

Can you not slot the holes in the brackets to make them adjustable?
