It IS louder, but not hugely so in terms of absolute noise levels. At the Hullavington trackday, my HKS was tested at 96.4dB as I think I posted in one of your threads elsewhere - that's only a couple of dB louder than stock.

The difference is more in terms of the exhaust tone. It's more throaty and growly, and you do get more resonance noise between about 3,000 and 3,500 rpm.

So long as you don't hoof it out of your driveway and then VTEC off up the road (which of course you shouldn't be doing anyway until you've got 3 bars showing on the temp gauge ), I don't think it will be a real problem.

94mm is indeed quite wide. I sauntered back over to my car on the trackday to find a Caterham R500 driver admiring the tailpipes. He said it looked as if I had twin grenade launchers strapped underneath Very James Bond!

Mark was the db reading taken when the car had fully warmed up? I find the sound to get deeper and louder as the car become warmer.

A lot of people stare at tailpipes - they do look gorgeous!

I know this is a bit childish of me but part of the appeal is being able to past a Boxster and give the aural two fingers or should I say two exhausts to said motor

That would be a sound to behold, N4S!

Frisky came up to a mini-meet a few weeks back and enjoyed hearing Pete's and my HKS in stereo. HKS surround sound with even more cars would be awesome!

Yes - I'd driven down to Hullavington, which is around 90 miles from home. It had then stood for maybe 30 minutes, so it would have cooled down, but not entirely.

Pete, if you're reading this thread, do you recall what your HKS was tested at? They did yours not long after you arrived, so it wouldn't have had time to cool down.

The HKS is becoming very very popular! I am thinking about the dual Amuse mufflers as they would give me great weight savings. But they are very very expensive!

I think it is lighter but not by much.

However, I did drop the OEM on my tummy which really hurt!!!!

The OEM one weighs a tonne!

Part No. 3203-SH010

Am I right in thinking then that the UK spec one is different to the US one as the one confirmed by you had TU after the number above? - am on the point of ordering one this arvo ya see so don't want to make a b@lls up
