Default Arch rust solution

So I was cleaning the car the other day and noticed that the rust along the rear arches is becoming a bit of a problem now, and something needs to be done.

Now I have been meaning to have my rear arches rolled as under heavy load the rears will touch the tyres, over a fast bump for example. Now there is now way the arches are going to survive being rolled and so I have been doing some thinking. Ideally the arch needs cutting out, but what if instead of replacing this with fresh metal, I thought about going for wider arches/overfenders, coupled with some spacers to increase the track.

This would eliminate the rust, and allow me to widen the track without having my wheels stick out further that the body, has anyone else done this? Can anyone help with where to get some rear arches from?

Thanks, Tom

Can I ask where you bought your asm overfenders from and how much you paid?

Did you ask the body shop to fill and smooth over the holes?

I got mine from a member here but you can get them from injection imports.
Yes they did cover the hols in it cut of the rusty arch and welded inner arch and seal it. It costed me less than £300 in a garage here in Manchester

Out of curiosity, when did you notice the rust?
Did you have the plastic bits on the arches or have you removed them and then saw the rust?

I think the plastic splash guard liners are holding water making the arches to rust quicker..

Cheers!
