Did you have the plastic bits on the arches or have you removed them and then saw the rust?

I think the plastic splash guard liners are holding water making the arches to rust quicker..

Cheers!
I had first noticed it around a year ago, just a slight amount of surface rust on the arches, I had this sanded back and repainted but now I have noticed some signs on rust being further up, some very slight bubbling and discolouring of the paint above the rear bumper. Ill take some pictures at the weekend when its light to show what im dealing with

Thanks for the reply Tom..So I'm guessing that you never had the plastic arch liners in place..Have a look at the thread below:
Plastic guards - Arch liners

They are known to cause arch rust and most ppl discard them as they hold water.
(their intended use from Honda is to protect your arches from chips..)

All the best in fixing it mate!
Looking forward to the

I'm not sure this is suitable for the paint; but I've used Hammerite's green gooey (bought from Halfraud's for a tenner) Rust Remover stuff with success in the past when painting my calipers. They were really bad and it brought them to bare metal!

http://www.halfords.com/motoring/pai...over-gel-750ml

Just checked it and it says it won't damage paintwork!

I had a small bubble on my arch, buffed it back to this......

Once it's started you really need to cut it out and repair it properly. My car has never had the plastic arch liners either.

Good luck repairing yours
